Overview

Astred red clover is an exciting red clover with unique qualities, bred in Australia by the Tasmanian Department of Primary Industries. Astred has been extensively trialed by government and independent agronomists.

Extremely persistent even under sheep grazing. Suited to free draining soils. Astred has been trialed extensively and its superior production and persistence make it suitable for sowing into all regions of Australia that receive above 600 mm annual rainfall. It should be considered in regions that may have overlooked other red clovers because of poor persistence. Because of Astred's nutritional qualities, it makes high
quality hay and is ideal for finishing lambs, cattle or milking cows.

• Low oestrogen levels

• Excellent persistence

• More tolerant of hard grazing

• Suited to free draining soil types that do not become waterlogged
